Prof. Magnus Berggren awarded 2014 Marcus Wallenberg Prize

Magnus_priceProf. Magnus Berggren (Linköping University – partner of iONE-FP7) has been awarded 2014 Marcus Wallenberg Prize (2 million SEK) for his pioneering research that strongly facilitated growth of printable electronics. The official announcement states Prof. Berggren has developed ion-based, electrochemical transistors operating at low voltages, which are easy to print even at relatively rough surfaces, like paper. Using the same basic technology has also contributed to development of organic bioelectronics – components that enable communication between biological systems (ions) and electronics (electrons) – for use in medicine and diagnostics.

The official ceremony will take place on 22 September in Stockholm. The whole iONE-FP7 consortium congratulates to Prof. Berggren and looking forward to the continuing cooperation towards a new Active Medical Implantable Device.
